Aaron’s Story

Seven year old Aaron has Myelodysplasia. He received an unrelated donor stem cell transplant in August 2020, but he unfortunately developed severe chronic graft versus host disease (cGVHD) which has been resistant to multiple lines of standard NHS therapy.

The Azaylia Foundation has donated £10,000 to Birmingham Children’s Hospital to treat Aaron with ruxolitinib for six months, a relatively new agent that has shown excellent results in clinical trials but is not yet funded for patients his age by the NHS.
